Why run nude? Well first off, why not? Weren't we all born nude? But really, we have runs because nude running is a fun and adventurous way to exercise and a growing trend across the country. So really, we are just helping people legally go streaking all over! Check it off your bucket list!!

Is this legal? Why of course! All of our events are held on the grounds of established nudist resorts, so its 100% permitted and encouraged!

Has it been done before? The whole nude running craze started back in 1993 in the Tampa, FL area and since then it has grown to over 25 races throughout North America! Join in on something Runner's World and Competitor Magazines say is a Top 10 of must do races for all runners!!

Where do you put your race bib? Haha good one. Well, for race marking purposes, we typically issue wristbands to all runners which must be worn and also mark their race number on each arm to assist the finish line results team. Don't worry it washes right off post - race.

Do I have to be completely nude to run a race? Yes!! Ok, Just kidding. Although most of our race participants will run completely nude, that doesn't mean you have to. Most of our events are CLOTHING OPTIONAL, which means you can undress to your comfort level. Some women wear sports bras to give support to their ladies as needed. **Bare Oaks is clothes free, not clothing optional, so runners will need to run nude. Ask race director for special situations**

How many people run your races? On average our events have drawn between 80-100 per event, but that isn't to say one venue will soon draw over 200. Just depends on proximity of a major city and race day weather etc.

Who (gender and age group wise)? So far, since 2011, we have been able to maintain a 45%/55% balance of female to male runners who attend our races. This is way higher than the national average for women in races.

Age wise? Our runners typically range from ages 18 to over 70, the highest segment actually is the 22-30 age group. Seasoned, recreational and competitive runners from all over come to compete in these uniquely themed 5k races.

Are cameras/photography allowed? Unfortunately, no. All resorts have rules against photography in public places and we adhere to those same rules during all our races to ensure privacy for all and to just be safe. However, some of our races give you the chance to take a commemorative photo at the finish! Ask us!

Will race results be online?  Yes. Results from each event will be posted on both TheNudeRun.com and CoolRunning.com approximately two weeks after the race date. To protect the privacy some our runners need who may not want USA Today knowing they ran, just the first name and last initial with age and city will be published. Full race results will also be available at each race's awards ceremony.

What are my chances of winning? Well how fast are you typically at a 5k distance? How many people can you trip at the start? Kidding!! Really, our races bring in runners who are competitive in local road races to recreational racers who just do 5k's for fun and fitness. We also have a fair amount of walkers who enjoy walking au naturel. So, it depends on the area and field of competitors really. "If you never do, you'll never know!"

Do I still get a t-shirt? Why of course!! Just like most charity and competitive 5k races, we always provide each runner with a custom commemorative The Nude Run 5K logo across the front. S

Does it hurt to run nude? Hurt?!? Well in short, not really. However, some women choose to wear a sports bra for support just in case. Undress to your level of running comfort.

Do I need a membership to each resort to run the event? Nope! Your race entry actually grants you access to the resort for the race and also for the rest of the day!! Enjoy yourself and relax at some of the many amenities offered at each place such as resort style pools, gyms, hot tubs and more!

Is this chip-timed? Chip timing is usually only reserved for races of greater than 500 runners, so for now we are sticking to just clock timing and finish cards. But hope we get there soon!!

How do you determine the winners? Whoever finishes first wins!!! We award awesome prizes to each 1st Overall Male and 1st Overall Female in each race. As you cross the line, our finish line team will give you a race card, which you fill out and hand back to them. All finish places and times are made available by the time award ceremony is held, usually about an hour after the race concludes.

Are there age group awards? Unlike most races, we don't mess with age group awards medals. Instead we give out medals to our Top Three Overall Male and Top Three Overall Female finishers. Top Three Age Finishers Male and Top Three Age Finishers Female receive a commemorative The Nude Run 5K towel with event name printed on it. (Categories: under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)

Prizes??! All participants are automatically entered into our awards ceremony raffles and door prizes drawing. Keep your tickets till the drawing!! Depending on the venue, you may win free entry to a future race, a bar tab or more!!

How do you behave and is there anything I should know before I go? Well, you should behave as you would any other public place. Inappropriate behavior will cause expulsion immediately from the grounds. Also, don't forget to bring at least one towel with you to sit on or bathe/shower with!!
